This Monday evening, the third and final concert of the “Triptyque Musical en Uzège” series will be performed. Hosted by the Association Musicale des Deux Fleuves, this concert brings together three international musicians and three artisans, this time: a violin maker, a silk painter and a bamboo artist. The musicians will present works by Rossini and the Magic of the Chinese Flute with the celebrated Chinese flautist Weliang Zhang. Planning ahead for the October Food Festival – starting this afternoon, tickets will be on sale for the next Saveurs et Savoirs festival planned for October 8 – 11. The full programme of activities for four days dedicated to celebrating delicious food can be found on festivalsaveursetsavoirs.fr. St Maximin et Blauzac:
For the July 4th weekend, tickets are now on sale for the twelfth annual “Jazz en Uzège” festival. The first concert will be in St Maximin on Friday July 3rd and then the festival continues on Saturday July 4th and Sunday July 5th in Blauzac. Planning ahead for the 2nd annual October Collines du Bourdic race, “le 20 des Collines”, registration is now open for several race options to be held on Sunday 18 October. This year you will be able to choose from nature trails of 8, 12 or 20 km. There’s also an 8km winemakers’ walk, which will be a more festive atmosphere with tastings of wines and local products along the way. Planning ahead for mid-July: the Domaine Tardieu-Ferrand is back with its “Wine Folies”, their summer winegrower musical evenings. Planning ahead for mid-July: The Nuits Musicales d’Uzès summer festival starts on July 18th, with the baroque opera “Didon & Énée” by Henri Purcell, in a semi-staged version with French subtitles. The opera will be performed by le Jeune Orchestre Baroque Européen, with Sylvain Sartre as musical director and Margaux Blanchard as artistic director. The Cicada Festival kicks off this Friday at the Jardin de l’Évêché for its 8th season, with two days of concerts. This Friday evening from 6 p.m., expect several generations spinning tunes with a very eclectic program from jazz to techno. This Friday evening, L’Abrix Bar is hosting an Afro-Caribbean themed concert night with the band “Konvoi Exceptionnel,” playing from 9pm. The Argorock festival, created by EMR, the Remoulins music school, kicks off this Friday at the Arènes for its 6th season. On the program for this first evening: four bands. This Saturday, the Famille Solo Cooperative is hosting its third haute couture fashion show at 7 p.m. in the town hall courtyard. There, you’ll be able to admire the fashion creations of designer Frédéric Duverneuil, all of which are entirely handmade. The program also includes several activities, such as a self-defense demonstration, a live art performance by a painter working on a white dress specially created for the occasion, and music by Fun Guitare. Pont du Gard is kicking off its sound and light show on July 4th with its “war and peace” themed presentation. This year, you will have the opportunity to see the creation of an unprecedented partnership between the video genius of Groupe F, the team that lit up the Eiffel Tower, and the flamboyant imagination of painter Robert Combas, the artist who is currently exhibiting his “War and Peace” paintings on antiquity, mythology, and tales of historic battles at the museum on site. The “War and Peace” sound and light show starts at 10:30 p.m. on the right bank of the bridge, for 30 minutes, every evening this summer from July 4th to August 30th. Fans of modern sculpture should come along and check out the Olivier Schoenenberger exhibit – Olivier’s pieces will be on exhibit all summer long, until August 31 at the Jamin David Gallery and Atelier, 9 rue St Théodorit.
The traditional Tuesday night summer market is starting up this week in Uzès. Come along on Tuesday evening to the Place du Duché, to check out all the market goods and artisans’ wares and if you’re feeling a little adventurous you can move your feet on the tango dance floor, or simply watch the elegant moves at this weekly tango milonga hosted by Tabou Tango at 8pm in the courtyard of the town hall. Both events happen every Tuesday evening all summer long.

Another reminder for the “Jazzoparc” festival which is happening in late July on the 24th, 25th, and 26th at parc des Cordeliers in Anduze, for its sixth year.
